Hi all!

Just thought I would stop by and give you a little sneak peak of our upcoming Stamp-a-stacK.

When: Two sessions (both the same) will be held

Saturday 20th February

and

Sunday 21st February

Where: Lynda's home, in Tolmans Hill Tasmania (full details will be provided upon registration and receipt of payment)

What: Create 12 gorgeous hand stamped cards, 3 each (in different colour ways) of Male, Female, Boy and Girl

Cost: $40 This includes all supplies needed to create all 12 cards (except adhesive) and afternoon tea

Time: 1.30pm sharp

What to bring: A basic craft kit - scissors, adhesive (ie snail or double sided tape), ruler, pencil etc and your own mug.

Come and spend a fab day with like-minded crafty people, creating a gorgeous mini magazine rack and four co-ordinating cards to go with it. Here is a sample of the project on offer, there will be a variety of stamp sets and Designer Series Papers used on the day.

10am for a 10.30am start (we should be finished by about 4pm)

Inky Divas 2009

Hello, we're back for 2009. I bet you were wondering when we were going to get our act together. Well with school heading back soon, and quality family time under our belts, we are feeling rested and relaxed and ready to STAMP! We hope you are too.

Our class formats are undergoing a few changes this year, after some constructive feedback from some wonderful stampers last year.

Christmas Club

So you thought you would be ready for Christmas last year? Cards all stamped and ready to send by the end of November – NOT!!! Well, this year we are here for you, this year we will help you have all your Christmas craft projects prepared well ahead of time. Join our Christmas Club and create 2 projects each month, from February to November – now that's organized!!

When: Every third Friday of the month, commencing Friday 20^th February

Where: Lynda's house in Tolmans Hill (details provided on registration). Refreshments provided, please bring a plate of supper to share.

Time: 7pm for a 7.30pm start

What: 2 Christmas projects. This month we will be making four Christmas cards, 2 each of 2 designs.

Cost: $15 per session payable one month in advance. A full refund will be given for cancellations with 2 weeks notice. After this time, cancelled places will receive project packs to complete at home.

Techniques Junkies Club
Love learning new techniques? Like to extend the versatility of your stamps? Technique Junkies is for you. Join this club and learn two new techniques every month. You will create a Techniques booklet, with detailed instructions for each technique with a sample, and also create a project using that technique. By the end of the year you will have built up a wonderful resource to keep and use over and over again.

Membership of this club will cost $10 to cover the cost of creating your Techniques booklet.

When: Every first Friday of the month, commencing March 6^th

Where: Lynda's home in Tolmans Hill (details provided upon registration). Refreshments provided, please bring a plate of supper to share.

Time: 7pm for a 7.30pm start

What: Learn two new techniques, with detailed instructions and a sample for your book. Cement your learning by creating a project using each of your new techniques.

Cost: $10 membership fee (once only). $15 per Techniques Junkies class, payable one month in advance. A full refund will be given with 2 weeks notice. After this date, project packs will be provided to complete at home.

But Wait! There's more ...

Every six weeks, or so, we are hoping to offer a full day Stamp Camp course. These stamp camps will sometimes cover techniques, 3d projects and other items of interest. On these days there will (usually) be four projects to create and take home, with detailed instructions.

The first Stamp Camp for 2009 will take place on 7^th of March 2009 and will take the form of a NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION STAMP-A-STACK. Start the New Year as you mean to continue it, with a gorgeous batch of hand stamped cards to wow your friends and family, and show them how much you care. You will create 12 cards, 3 each of 4 different designs, such as Male, Child, Female etc

When: 7^th March 2009

Where: Lynda's house in Tolmans Hill (details provided on registration). Refreshments and morning or afternoon tea provided.

What: New Year's Resolution Stamp-a-StacK. 12 cards, 3 each of 4 different designs

Time: We anticipate the projects will take up to 2 ½ hours to complete. There will be two start times available 9.30am and 2pm.

Cost: $25 payable on registration. Registrations close on 20^th February. Cancellations after this date will receive project kits to complete at home.

The Projects on offer!
We are planning an “Open House” format for the day. Guests are invited to arrive at a time that suits them (we know everyone is very busy at this time of year!) There will be four projects to make, each set up at a different “station”. You can take your time moving around each project, and of course we will be on hand to offer you all the help you need. You will need to allow 2 – 2 ½ hours to complete all of the projects. So what are the projects?

Well, our regular stamp campers will all have their Christmas cards well in hand by then! ;) So we are focusing on gifts and decorations.

1) A beautiful bauble made from designer series paper

2) Gorgeous gift tags to adorn your presents under the tree

3) Stunning paper bows to decorate your Christmas table or those larger gifts

4) A glamorous clear treat box to fill with chocolates or home baked goodies

There will also be other ideas for gifts, wrapping and decoration on display and a wide selection of instruction sheets and templates for you to choose from.

What should you bring?
Paper trimmer, scissors and adhesive
There will be drinks and nibbles available all day (please advise us of any dietary requirements).

So come and celebrate the festive season with us, and get those creative juices flowing!!

Christmas in August - the Day's projects

Sorry it has taken me so long to get this post up, health and pooter problems have been against me!

I think everyone that attended had a good day, I hope they were pleased with all the projects they got to take home. When we saw everyones work in front of them they all looked so lovely!

I actually managed to take a few pictures of completed projects. Unfortunately I did not get many of the cards but there are some.

We deicded that on the next camp we would ask people to leave their work out on show as they complete it so others can see what they ahve done and the whole inspring process continues!

it was fair to say that on the day everyone was covered in glitter and embossing powders, I think my floor suffered the most but thankfully it is tiled so cleaned up pretty easily!

Anyway, enough of the waffling - here is what they came up with!

Christmas in August - Some Samples!

Hi everyone!

Just a little taster of what we will be creating at our Christmas in August Stamp Camp. Take the opportunity to be really prepared early this year and be inspired to get those stamps out early!

For the "quick and easy card" we will be using lots of glitter to add a Christmassy sparkle to our cards.

The other card we will be making is one that is a bit more involved, perhaps one to give to a special someone! For this card we will be using the collage technique of layering stamps and ink colours to add depth and dimension to our cards, there will also be embossing and ... you guessed it glitter!

All the details you need to sign up are below, but be quick - we have already had a lot of interest in this camp!

Christmas in August!

We are sorry this is so late but our busy lives, and illness, have eaten in to our schedule! Anyway, enough of the excuses, here is what you have been waiting for!

Christmas in August!

When: Sunday 31^st August 2008*

Where: North Hobart or Tolmans Hill

(to be confirmed nearer the time!)

Time: 9.30am – 4pm

Cost: $55

* If demand is high and enough people who would like to come but can’t due to other commitments it may be possible to hold a course on another day, please contact us to express an interest.

So what will we be doing?

There will be four projects to do on the day.

1) Prepared by Claire, a quick and simple Christmas card which will be great to make ‘in bulk’ yet holds the ‘wow’ factor.

2) Decorate a candle with Lynda, learn how to use your rubber stamping skills and then apply them to a candle – this can be the centre piece of your Christmas table!

3) Make a card which is more involved with Claire. This will include all the Christmas favourites of embossing and glitter!

4) Following on with the table theme make a mini cracker with Lynda which can be used to provide a home for a few mini chocolates and becomes a perfect place card holder. You will be using SU! card stock, lots of embossing and of course lots of glitter.

All the projects will focus on teaching you new techniques and ways of using your rubber stamps.

What will you need to bring?

You will need to bring your own adhesives, paper trimmer, scissors, a heat gun (only if you have one), and some little treats to put in your cracker and of course your own lunch. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided – please advise us of any dietary requirements.

Demand has already been high for the spaces available so it really is a case of getting your name down ASAP. Places can ONLY be confirmed with full payment, no exceptions. We have recently had people book places and not turn up on courses and not pay, not only are their financial implications for us it is the hours spent preparing kits that are wasted which saddens us the most!

One Sheet Wonder Stamp Camp

So here it is, the details of our next Stamp Camp!

We have decided to work on the principal of a One Sheet Wonder (OSW). Using a piece of A5 card stock which will be decorated by yourself. We will provide you with a template and further card stock to make five cards as well as giving you guidance on stamping, watercolouring and the use of Crystal Effects to highlight aspects of your cards. There will also be access to a range of Stampin' Up! punches and other embellishments!

The way the day will work is that it will be split in to morning and afternoon sessions, you can choose to do just one session or both sessions!

So here are the details

Date: Sunday 27th July
Where: North Hobart (exact location will be given on confirmation of your place)
Times: Morning Session 9-12pm
Afternoon Session 1-4pm

Costs : Morning Session $25
Afternoon Session $25
Whole Day $40

Morning tea will be provided in the morning and afternoon tea in the afternoon! Refreshments available all day. If you register for the whole day then please bring your own lunch (facilities will be available to warm up food).

You will also NEED to bring permanent adhesive, an accurate ruler, a pencil and a paper trimmer or cutting mat and craft knife.

There will be 8 OSWs to choose from, the choices are below. If you do the whole day you can choose two OSW, if you are just doing one session you get to choose just one OSW. Please email your registration to the Inkydivas by clicking the link below.

1. Spring Solitude

The background is chalked to give a 'sponged' effect. The colours used are . Orchid Opulence, Lovely Lilac and Whisper White.

2. Bud Basics

Using 2 step stamping you can quickly cover a large area of an A5 sheet with this set. The colours used are Regal Rose, Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla.

3. Natural Beauty

Using the lovely Natural Beauty stamp set and watercolour techniques you will produce a subtly coloured sheet you'll hate to cut up to make the cards! The colours used here are Bashful Blue, Perfect Plum, Barely Banana and Whisper White with a hint of Sage Shadow.

4. Artfully Asian

With this OSW you will get the chance to use a new technique. Using a Whisper White craft pad you will stamp your images and then using chalks you will transfer the colours to the white ink giving a visually stunning effect. The colours for this are Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Ruby Red, Summer Sun and Very Vanilla.

5. Like it a Latte

This is one of my favourite sets, just seeing that cup and the steam makes my mouth water! Using 2 of this years 'In Colours' this OSW is very 'in vogue', if you can say that in the crafting world! It will make cards to suit both males and females. The colours used here are Close to Cocoa, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava and Very Vanilla.

6. Seeing Spots

This is a very versatile set and makes very quick and easy cards and works fantastically with the bold colours! I have not been too precise with my stamping here, especially with the black bit but I figure you can leave the black bit off until you have cut up your sheet and using some circular sentiments I have that fit round the flower, we can show you how to position them exactly and you can choose your sentiment for each card! The colours used here are Pixie Pink. Brocade Blue, Green Galore, Whisper White with hints of Lavender Lace and Basic Black.

7. Wild About You

I forgot to take the picture of this before I cut it up so here is a slideshow of the cards you can make! Just click on the picture below!

This is a great funky set for kids and adults alike! The colours used here are Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Taken with teal, Whisper White with a hint of Summer Sun (I think we all need that!).

8. Unfrogrettable

Again some sample cards, but please not the colours on these are not totally representational of the colours we'll be using on the day, they are outlined below!

This is a fun set and very versatile! Again this one suits the bold colours. USing Watercolour Wonder Crayons or Watercolour Pencils you can easily paint up this fun sheet!

The colours used here are Real Red, Green Galore, Only Orange and Yoyo Yellow

Well Claire and I are being busy little beavers right now getting ready for the fair. I believe Claire has been a whole lot more productive than me - my feeble excuse is that she hasn't fitted a kitchen and isn't suffering from jet lag...hehe...

The whole thing is very much an experiment, but will hopefully be successful enough for us to try again and improve on things that weren't as good as they could have been - we are both novices at this which is why.....

Hobart Quilt & Craft Fair

Exciting news!

Claire and I have decided to have a stall at this year Quilt & Craft Fair. It has been a huge decision as it is quite a financial investment, but we have confidence in the products we are demonstrating with and selling so we shall at least return our investment. The true reason is to take the mystery out of all aspects of stamping and allow people to see how a set of stamps at a reasonable price can work in so many ways. Many of us before have bought single stamps which although beautiful, often have just a singular use but with a hefty price tag.

There is a fair amount of preparation involved, especially as I shall be overseas for the next 5+ weeks! I would love it if all those in Tasmania who read our blogs, would make a special effort to come and support us on the day. We only have a small stall but we all know the best things come in small packages!!

Derwent Entertainment Centre, Glenorchy

We shall be holding two classes a day which you can enrol in, one is watercolouring and the other is using punches and wheels. You need to book your spot at our stall in the morning (I believe the cost is around $6-$7 per class)

We will be demonstrating some of the products at the stall during the day and will gladly answer anyone's questions. there will be various show specials available, one of which is the Stampin' Up! Show Bag!

SHOW BAGS @ JUST $12

You will get all sort of exciting goodies in the bag which will only cost you $12, I can tell you already there will be a new Idea Book & Catalogue in there which usually retails at $13-95 by itself + %5 shipping and handling - it HAS to be a bargain!!! There are only limited numbers each day so it is definitely first come first served.

It is a great day out, so much to see and do, bring a packed lunch or buy lunch there. There is an eftpost facility over the counter there I believe and some of the bigger stalls will take cards, many operate on a cash only basis .

We CAN take debit and credit cards which are VISA or MASTERCARD for any orders taken on the day but we cannot process cards for any of the extras, classes, pre-made cards, card packs etc, they will have to be cash only.

One Sheet Wonder

For those of you that attended our brayer Stamp Camp and made those ebautiful 12x12s with Claire, we did promise that we would have the One Sheet Wonder on teh site so the non scrap bookers can make cards out of the sheets.

I created it to make 14 cards, I think with creativity you could get fifteen out of it. On top of the 12 x 12 I obviously used other sheets of card stock. the details are in the link.

Our Stamp Camp!

May Stamp Camp has been and gone, it was hectic but great fun. Claire and I were fit to drop at the end so settled ourselves down with a glass of champers to celebrate a good day.

Using a brayer is quite a challenging technique so we were worried first of all that we wouldn't look as if we knew what we were doing and secondly we were worried that our guests would get too frustrated but all these worries were totally unfounded, it was a good day.

here are some pictures Claire's mum took of the day.

As you can see it was a tight squeeze, their were 18 guests split in to 2 groups. We work it by taking a group each and then swapping over, then we have lunch and repeat the format in the minute. Each group gets to work on four different projects.

This is me with one of the groups, I am looking incredibly serious for some reason, I hope I didn't look like that the whole time (I am the one in the pink t-shirt!)

This is the rest of my group, as you can see it was a tight fit but I think everyone had enough room to work easily but it was definitely our limit!

This was the other end of the room, Claires group, all looking very industrious

Claire has managed to avoid a clear picture but she has not got away totally

I took a couple of pictures at the end of completed projects Claire had created with her group.

This one was by Brenda, using stamping, masking and brayering with a spectrum pad she created this beautiful 12x12 sheet from just a plain sheet of Whisper White - how stunning is this?

This one was created by Emma, it is a really fun sheet, lots of bright colours...

These are obviously just 2 samples from 18 people working on 4 projects, so really that is 72 different and amazing projects! If you were on the course and would like to share your creations with us, take a photo and email it either myself or Claire and we will post if for you.

Brayer Stamp Camp

The demand for this has been high and we filled the available spaces very quickly which was great news!

So for those of you who are booked in and coming here is a taster of some of the projects you will be seeing and having a go at

Claire being a top class scrapbooker will be showing you how to use a brayer to turn boring old white 12 x 12 card stock in to something perfectly coordinated with your photographs and embellishments. In this example she has recreated a beach scene!

In the next two examples she has used a brayer and masking together to make the most amazing 12 x 12 sheets

Even if you don't scrapbook you can use one of these sheets to make a number of different cards. We call this a One Sheet Wonder (OSW)!

Claire will also be showing some resist techniques with a brayer, these are really WOW!

Lynda will be showing you how to use a brayer to give a graduated colour effect to add some interest to skies. This is the kind of thing that you will see demonstrated and get the opportunity to recreate.

Lynda's second project of the day is using a brayer, a spectrum pad, some glossy card and a selection of stamps to make some really cute little gift boxes.

So all in all quite a lot to see and do!

Welcome indeed to InkyDivas! This is the blog of Lynda and Claire who are both Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from Southern Tasmania, who like to work together on various projects such as Stamp Camps, Craft Fairs, workshops and Stamp-a-Stacks! We also work independently of each other and you can see what we are up to via the links to our individual blogs on the right.

Claire is the organised one and Lynda is the somewhat disorganised, scatty blond! (I can say this as I am Lynda....lol)

We will use this blog to preview what we will be demonstrating at various events and other exciting developments we have as a team!
